Could it be that other finalists are somehow responsible for these disappearances, thinning out the competition? Like the couple on the verge of divorce who need the prize money, or the three Beiler sisters, always in a huddle whispering. A NOTE FROM WANDA E. BRUNSTETTER
The idea to write The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie's Biscuits was presented to me from Martha Bolton, who is an author and playwright. She asked if I might like to co-author the book with her, which will also be adapted into a musical play. The idea sounded fun, so I worked it into my schedule. The Blue Gate Musical Company did a musical play a few years ago, based on my Daughters of Lancaster County series. They included a character named Foster Bates, a detective, and in the process of finding out who stole a baby, he teamed up with Fannie Miller. Fannie is an Amish woman I had introduced in my series set in Lancaster. In this new book, Fannie and Foster are working together again, this time on a new mystery that involves a baking contest.
