We express our sincere condolences on the passing of Pope Francis. Pope Francis, a former Jesuit, visited Sophia University during his visit to Japan in 2019 and spoke to students, faculty, and staff. Please join us in praying for the Pope’s eternal repose.
A memorial Mass for Pope Francis will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, in the main chapel of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, in collaboration with the Japan Province of the Society of Jesus, St. Ignatius Church and Sophia School Corporation.
All are welcome to attend this Mass.
