Date: Thursday 28th August
Time: 6.45pm
Price: £13.50 + Booking fee
Step into a world of myth, mischief and magic with Folktales from the Forest – an evening of adult storytelling and live music in the atmospheric surrounds of the Samuel Worth Chapel.
Hosted by Graeme Cooke, creator of the Tales of Britain and Ireland podcast, the evening features a selection of sylvan stories drawn from the forests and woodlands of Britain and Ireland. Expect amorous encounters, evil elves, a loyal dog, orchard guardians with curious names, and a heroine who knows exactly what she wants – and how to get it.
All tales are delivered with humour, warmth, and a deep love for the storytelling tradition, interwoven with music and song by the captivating Alice Nicholls. A multi-instrumentalist composer and songwriter from Leeds, Alice blends classical training with a playful, genre-defying approach to folk music that delights audiences and challenges convention.
