Day Trekking Camp in The Peak District
Have you ever imagined taking your horse on holiday with you and immersing yourself into the wonderful scenery of The Peak District? Stay with us here in Holmesfield for a 3 night stay and awake to your horse in the paddock.
This 3 day trekking guided ride camp starts at Ladybower Reservoir, on to Chatsworth Estate and finishing with the third day along the Peak District Moors.
Check in on the Thursday afternoon/evening to settle in to camp before you set off on your drive to Ladybower Reservoir on Friday morning. The drive to Ladybower Reservoir is roughly 45 mins - 1 hour. Directions will be given.
Friday afternoon once you ride is complete, you will head back to camp to settle in for the night, before you head off to Chatsworth on the Saturday morning.
Saturday morning, load up for your second ride of the weekend - Chatsworth Estate. Chatsworth is approx a 30 min drive away. Parking and directions will be given.
Saturday afternoon, head back in to camp.
Sunday morning, third and final ride of the weekend. Nicki & her horse Winnie will guide you over some of the most beautiful trails and scenery the Peak District has to offer - The Big Moor! No need to box up for this one, this is right on our door step.
All rides are approx 9 - 10 miles long and can take up to 3 hours. Areas of riding can be challenging with stony paths, gates, inclines, water crossings and road work. Livestock, walkers, mountain bikers, large vehicles & dogs are inevitable along the way.
We will be heading out on each ride with experienced guides.
Barefoot horses, if used to varied terrain will be fine, but hoof boots are recommended.
Rides will aim to start at 10.30am each day, meeting at 10am.
Parking charges differ between place to place. More details will be given.
Camping in your tent, lorry, trailer is permitted or we do have 2 on site touring caravans which will also be available to hire for the duration of your stay.
Camp is based in Holmesfield S18 7WF. 30 mins from Sheffield & Chesterfield
Onsite is an eco loo, hot running shower, small honesty shop & a small shared kitchen area.
Along with secure individual, paddocks for your horse.
The camp is aimed at confident, competent riders who enjoy time in the saddle, looking for new adventures.
You can expect walk, trot, canter & gallop in some places.
After each ride, you will drive back to camp, where you can relax and prepare for the next day of riding.
Over 18's only Small group of just four riders, plus lead rider.
The price includes 3 guided rides and 3 nights stay for you and your horse.
Family members welcome.
Please note we will have to park 7.5 ton lorries a little distance from the horses.
Small boxes and small lorries are fine.
Dogs are welcome (small fee applies)
A deposit of £100 is required to secure your place. Upon booking and the deposit payment passed, an invoice will then be sent to the rider for the final balance. The final balance is required 6 weeks prior to the camp date.
The prices per rider for the 3 days of camping/caravan, horse paddocks and 3 guided rides is £291 when camping and £320 when staying in one of our on site caravans.
