Join us as we welcome Alythia of the Ash back for a three week intensive designed to take your practice with tarot cards to the next level!
We'll be going beyond individual card meanings and explore deeper patterns in the visual language of the Waite-Colman-Smith deck, and apply new thinking to bring a deeper, more holistic understanding of the cards, the deck as a whole, and your readings
Week 1: We will have a brief discussion of the origin of the Tarot, and then dive into The Major Arcana. We will explore the symbols of the Waite-Coleman-Smith deck and the rich relationships between cards that can bring added understanding to the functions and meanings of the cards.
Week 2: We will explore the Minor Arcana including the court cards, further connecting the rich symbols from the Waite Coleman Smith deck to numerology, astrology, and the ways in which the pictoral language of these cards deepens our insight as we read with them.
Week 3: Now that we've deepened our understanding of the deck, we'll talk about how to do readings with the cards, potential incorporation of the cards into magical practice, and in particular discuss the ethics of tarot usage and readings more generally.
We will be primarily using the Waite Coleman Smith deck (also called the Rider-Waite deck) as it provides the foundational imagery that the majority of modern Tarot decks base their references on. You do not need to have a lot of experience with Tarot to take the class and get something out of it, but please keep in mind that I will be starting from the standpoint that you have access to a card-by-card guide that provides basic card meanings. While it is recommended that you attend all three sessions, you can drop in for one or more as each session can be understood individually.
