All are welcome to a free Sound Healing Drum jam Wednesday at Posse Grounds 7-9pm! Bring your drum, chair, acoustic instruments, including healing bowls. A few small lights woulds also be helpful during the last 30 minutes.
The Sedona Drum and Healing Circle grew naturally from a shared desire to explore the transformative power of rhythm and sound. Rooted in heart-centered collaboration and improvisational drumming, our gatherings have given rise to a unique, intuitive formula—one where healing, connection, and personal growth emerge through the joy of making music together. Our core aim is to access the powerful internal state of Flow—a space of deep focus, presence, and creative energy—while collectively experiencing the uplifting and restorative effects of rhythm, sound, and movement.
The following is a description of how the Full Spectrum RePatterning Arc plays out: Each round begins with restless and seemingly chaotic drumming, intended to disrupt mental fixation and activate the nervous system, inviting the mind to soften and the body to lead. We drop in, we breathe, we reconnect and feel for a shared group pulse to emerge. As entrainment takes hold, freedom awakens and the space opens for spontaneous, heart-led improvisation.
As the drumming slows and stops, the singing bowls, shruti box and vocal toning guide us inward. Their tones shift us into deep listening—quieting the mind and attuning us to subtle sensations and inner awareness.
Next, the wind instruments and chimes enter, calling in the etheric blueprint of our heart’s deepest desires. We begin to entrain, both individually and as a collective, to the vibration of who we are becoming, through intention, voice, breath, and movement.
The frame drum, with the primal heartbeat of life, anchors us back into rhythm. Layers of percussion, shakers, bells, hand drums, gather around this pulse, amplifying aliveness. Energy rises. Momentum builds. We enter a phase of joyful collaboration, weaving intricate patterns and powerful rhythms in a shared crescendo of transformation.
At the peak, the collective groove then begins to soften. We gradually return to a unified heartbeat, fading the sound into stillness. A moment or two of deep gratitude follows, where we ground, integrate, and honor the journey we’ve just moved through together.
The experience is comprised of the instruments that show up and the willingness of everyone to let them be played and be heard. We embrace the addition of sound healing instruments such as healing bowls, handpans, bells, didgeridoos, flutes, and shakers. These instruments add balance to the masculine energy, soothe the soul and to ease transitions into new territories.
Our circles are a dynamic, evolving tapestry of sound—one that mirrors our own inner unfolding of consciousness. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned drummer, you'll find a welcoming blend of challenge, connection, and flow.
