Walking Tour of Kinnear Park and SW Queen Anne

This loop tour will focus on the Olmsted-related history of the south Queen Anne neighborhood and Kinnear Park, Seattle’s second oldest park. Also on the tour are:

• Two proposed Olmsted boulevards
• The 1909 garden owned by Charles Black, cofounder of The Seattle Hardware Company
• The Observatory Courts, named "Observatory Park" by the City Council in 1902, and
• Marshall Park with Betty Bowen Viewpoint looking out to Elliot Bay. This park commands a fabulous view of Seattle’s harbor to this day.

Accessibility: This 1.5 mile walk includes stairs and slopes.

Location details: Meet at Kinnear Park at 7th Avenue West & West Olympic Place.

Parking: Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. The 1 Line bus stops right at the park.
