Title: Funn-damentals of Contact Improv
Facilitators: Serge Gubelman and Adnan Khan
Description: This workshop will start with fundamentals of listening, playfulness, and spontaneity, and open into into a Jam towards the end.
From a background of physical theater, Serge Gubelman was exposed to Contact improvisation in 1975 in New York and has been practicing ever since. He first taught C.I. in in Paris in 1979. Serge: “for me Contact improvisation is deep listening, while making yourself available to take your partner’s weight and also allowing yourself to give your weight.”
Adnan has been dancing and teaching C.I. since 2015.
