We will miss having Baby Gramps with us and wish him health and happiness and much laughter and musical mayhem. Ahem.
Herstory:Caroline drove with a friend from Georgia to Carnation, Wa, and hitched to busk at Pike Market in 1975, where she met Gramps and Artis. They took her under their wing and gave her a musical community and showed her where the free hot coffee was, (hidden for buskers deep in the market.) Through Artis, Gramps and Jim, she heard the magic and wonder of Seattle. All three have led and continue to lead the way, light the room, fan the creative flames.

Chris Lunn, founder of Seattle's music community, Victory Music, was instrumental in giving Caroline a hand up by booking her into the 1976 Folk Life Fest and other seats at Seattle's artistically rich and musical tables.
Caroline has performed Folk Life, Bumbershoot, and Pier 62-63 and the Seattle Zoo with the Indigo Girls.
"Years of performing, beginning in 1969 in NY, California, South America, NW and Europe, Caroline Aiken was named "The Best Acoustic Act"(Atlanta Mag) in her birth town of Atlanta, GA. Her rich history includes recording and performing with Bonnie Raitt and the Indigo Girls, opening for Arlo Guthrie, Muddy Waters, Doc Watson, Randy Newman, Little Feat, 38 Special, Beach Boys, Janis Ian, Richie Havens. Caroline appears in regional and national festivals, radio shows, workshops and concert series, supporting 9 nationally acclaimed recordings. Caroline's "Sensual voice, masterful songwriting, expert guitar" (Victory Music-Seattle) anchored Atlanta's acoustic and folk scene, influencing up and coming artists whom she took under her wing, including Indigo Girls and Shawn Mullins."
