Hello Brethren,
The Officers of Searcy Lodge No. 49, F.&A.M. will gather for our May Stated Meeting on Monday, June 16th, A.D. 2025 A.L. 6025.
We will not longer be observing a communal dinner prior to our Stated Meetings, and will continue to reserve that function solely for the conferring of Degrees. Due to this, the gavel will fall promptly at 7 o'clock P.M. Please arrive early and bring your own food!
If you are a Master Mason who is not affiliated with our Lodge, you are warmly invited to attend this meeting and partake in fellowship with the Brethren present. If you would like to affiliate with our Lodge, please meet with our Secretary to discuss the necessary steps to begin this process.
If you are not a Freemason but have the desire to learn more about our ancient and honorable fraternity, you are warmly invited to inquire within the hour before this meeting begins. At this time, you can meet the Brethren present who will answer any questions you may have, and will supply you with a formal petition, if needed. If you are considering petitioning our Lodge, these are our only requirements:
1. Are you a man?
What does this mean? Freemasonry is a fraternity, and as such, only accepts men into its ranks. If you are a woman who is interested in Freemasonry, we will encourage you to reach out to The Order of the Eastern Star.
2. Are you of lawful age?
What does this mean? A suitable candidate must be at least 18 years old to affiliate with any lodge within the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Arkansas.
3. Are you sound in mind and body?
What does this mean? A suitable candidate should be both physically and mentally healthy. This is to signify that they are fully capable of participating in the rituals, activities, and intellectual discussions of the Lodge.
4. Are you well-recommended?
What does this mean? A suitable candidate will be able to provide recommendations that are able to speak of their moral character upon request.
5. Have you come of your own free will and accord?
What does this mean? According to tradition, anyone who desired entry into Freemasonry had to make the decision on their own. In layman’s terms, to be a Freemason you must first ask a Freemason.
The Officers of Searcy Lodge No. 49, F.&A.M. hope to you soon.
So mote it be!
