The Day of the Jubilee | Juneteenth at Plant Riverside District, with Lillian Grant-Baptiste

Juneteenth also referred to as the day of Jubilee. Juneteenth is a significant holiday, for it commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Ritual Celebrant and Master Storyteller Lillian Grant-Baptiste, and a talented cast of awe-inspiring performing artists will illuminate the stage with storytelling, liberation songs, drumming, spoken word, poetry, and a few surprises! This promises to be an uplifting and riveting celebration that will captivate the audience from start to finish, leaving an impression of inspiration and empowerment.

Special performance by the Gullah Geechee Ring Shouters.
