“Have a Gentle (Good) Approach”
I got to experience many thrills during my three-decade time of service in the Navy. One of those continual exciting moments was watching aircraft land on the flight decks of aircraft carriers, while the ships were moving through the water. ONE inch off, and you can imagine, it can lead to an aircraft going in the ‘drink’, people getting injurred on the flight deck and in the insides of aircraft, and worse than anything death!
An experienced pilot always knows, a gentle approach is the best approach. And it isn’t too far from what God tells us directly in Scripture:
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” - Philippians 4:5 NIV
Wee are even given a promise, following this Scripture. First, Paul continues to talk about three other elements in that of: giving thanks, praying and petitioning.
Then there is (what many people consider cliche), “the peace of God that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ.”
During the days to come think about that “approach” that you may have with some people. Maybe some people say, “oh no! Here they come again.” Or may others are more accepting. Either way, try to be of gentle nature when you confront any one and everyone.
As much as many people may not say anything to you, everyone appreciates a gentle nature and a kind hello. 👋
