POMLA Meet-Up: Saturday, June 7, 2025

Join us at Kuruvungna Village Springs (on the campus of University High School, West LA) on Saturday, June 7th for our next POMLA gathering. The beautiful and sacred, Kuruvungna Springs is home to a natural springs and native plants that is a special place to the Tongva people, the original stewards of Los Angeles.

We'll enjoy a tour of the site from Bob Ramirez, the foundation's president, and you're welcome to stay afterward to relax or pitch in with light volunteer activities like skimming foliage from the water, pulling weeds or tending to native plants.

This peaceful site is maintained entirely by volunteers and donations. POMLA member Richard Tavarez's grandmother, Angie Dorame Behrns, is one of the founders and a tribal elder who helped preserve this space. If you feel moved, a small donation to the Gabrielino-Tongva Springs Foundation is always appreciated, though not required.

Come connect with nature, learn some local history and share time with our amazing POMLA community.

*Meet and Mingle begins at 10:30 am with the tour beginning closer to 11:00 am.
** Bagels and juice will be served! So come hungry!
