Please join us for the next speaker event at the Travel Bug with Porfirio Chavarria on reducing home fire risk. Porfirio will talk about how to reduce the risk of fire around your home. He is a member of the Wildland Division at the City of Santa Fe Fire Department.

Maintaining the area surrounding your home has the additional benefit to our community of reducing the risk of fire burning out of control. The Santa Fe Fire Department is one of the only fire departments in New Mexico to have ten full-time employees who specialize in fuel management in the Wildland-Urban Interface and respond to wildland fires. Their Wildland-Urban Interface program conducts home assessments to evaluate wildland fire risk and hazard.

Porfirio will be talking broadly about how this works and what to look out for in your own home. Bring your questions and concerns about fires in New Mexico!
