¿Yo Soy! by Eric Romero

Eric Romero’s upcoming solo exhibition, “¿Yo Soy!”, will be on view at Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe from May 30 to June 13, 2025. The show features a new collection of oil paintings that delve into themes of identity, heritage, and cultural introspection. Romero describes the exhibition as both a declaration and a question—an exploration of myth, philosophy, and religion through iconography. He emphasizes that the legacy and heritage of New Mexico endure through our willingness to interrogate, interpret, and celebrate them.

An artist reception is scheduled for Friday, May 30, from 5 to 7 pm, offering an opportunity to meet Romero and experience his latest works firsthand. The exhibition will be held at Blue Rain Gallery, located at 544 South Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

Romero, a self-taught artist from New Mexico, draws inspiration from Catholicism, ancient mythology, and the cultural narratives of Nuevo Mexico. His oil paintings are known for their bold colors and symbolic depth, reflecting the resilience and spirit of his community. Through his art, Romero pays homage to the power and strength of cross-cultural heritage, exploring the metamorphosis of culture and identity.
