Marea Ensemble presents: The Juliet Letters
Join the Marea Ensemble for an intimate evening of music, candlelight, and connection at the stunning MJA Winery. Featuring a live performance of The Juliet Letters—a haunting and genre-defying song cycle by Elvis Costello and the Brodsky Quartet—this event explores the raw, poetic fragments of unsent letters and the deeply human urge to reach out.
Guests will be invited to take part in the act of letter writing.
Each ticket includes a glass of wine, stationery, and pen—tools to write a letter to a loved one, to oneself, or to no one at all. Whether sent or kept, these letters are a gentle ritual of reflection and release.
The Juliet Letters blurs the lines between classical and contemporary, weaving together themes of love, grief, humor, and longing—mirroring the vulnerability of writing what might never be read.Let this evening be a space to slow down, to listen, and to feel deeply.
MAREA is a Bay Area–based chamber ensemble of five women redefining what string and vocal performance can be. With roots in classical training and a shared curiosity for experimentation, they craft intimate, genre-fluid performances that inhabit both traditional and unconventional spaces.
