Speaker: Healing Plants of San Francisco

Learn about native healing plants found in San Francisco with Charles Garcia of The California School of Traditional Hispanic Herbalism. Charles teaches herbalism, and emphasizes Curanderismo, or California Native-Hispanic healing techniques and philosophy. California Curanderismo is a unique and powerful therapeutic tradition due to the cross-cultural influences of European and Asian medicines, as well as the utilization of native flora. He is also writing a forthcoming book, Confessions of a Reluctant Herbalist: Hispanic Herbalism in California.

This program takes place in Latino/Hispanic Room located on the lower level of the Main Library.
