✨ Celebrate the 4th of July Weekend with Live Swing at Bal Haus! 🇺🇸🎷✨
We’re thrilled to welcome back the incredible Nathan Tokunaga Quartet — and this might be one of your last chances to catch Nathan before he heads off to college! Let’s pack the floor and send him off in style. 💃🕺🎶
Joining Nathan are three of the Bay Area’s finest: Vic Wong, Riley Baker, and Andrew Lawrence — an all-star crew guaranteed to deliver the swing that keeps your Balboa feet flying all night.
Nathan Tokunaga is a standout clarinetist and saxophonist known for his soulful sound, joyful virtuosity, and deep love of early jazz. Mentored by Clint Baker and Evan Christopher, he’s wowed audiences from local clubs to Birdland Theatre in NYC and recently played for nearly a thousand dancers at Lindy Focus with the Jonathan Stout Orchestra. Whether on clarinet or saxophone, Nathan channels legends like Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman with his own fresh spark.
$20 entrance fee. No partner needed. Beginners are welcome! Additionally, we offer a one-on-one mini crash course starting at 8:00 pm. $7 gets you a 20-minute private session with a top-notch Balboa instructor. You can work on any topic from fundamentals to styling. First come, first served. (Please come sign up when the doors open at 7:50pm)
Full bar available (cash only). Treat yourself to a delicious drink. There's ample street parking but please do not leave valuables in your car! Have other plans and coming by late? No problem! Admission is half off after 11:00pm.
