Kicking it with KPBS

Join KPBS and local community soccer partners for “Kicking it with KPBS” on Saturday, June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at KPBS on the San Diego State University campus. Kicking it with KPBS is a free outdoor event for soccer fans, players and leaders alike. We also will be hosting free lunch and a community conversation at the KPBS station.

This year, we’re celebrating the vast diversity and growth of soccer in the San Diego region. This event follows our “Soccer a la Frontera” digital project, led by reporter Jacob Aere. Join us for a day of celebration and conversation around this unifying sport.

• Participate in the free pick-up soccer games happening from 10am-11:30am.
• Get connected with local soccer organizations and professional teams’ supporters unions!
• Share your soccer stories at the event!
• Join KPBS at the station after the pick-up games for free lunch and a community conversation 11:30am-1pm

Parking information: We encourage the use of the MTS trolley or bus to reach SDSU. SDSU is conveniently located on the MTS Green Line trolley and many MTS stations offer free parking. Google Maps and the Transit App provide directions to SDSU Station via transit. The Green Line Guide is designed to help you navigate public transportation to and from SDSU with ease. Carpooling is strongly encouraged for those that drive as campus parking is limited.

Free parking is available for attendees who register through Eventbrite.

Age information: 18+ for pick-up games but families are welcome to bring kids to watch the games, interact with community soccer organizations and join in for lunch.
