Hey y'all! This is the Tuesday St. Pete. SKATE! This event is for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced! The skate gets more difficult as the night goes on, but is it also depends on the needs of the group.
Each week looks a bit different, but this is an example of what the night might look like.
Part 1 - 7:30 to 8:00 - We may devote this time to helping out beginners who are working on the basics. Make sure your skates are on and you are ready to start at 7:30 so we have a full 30 minutes! If we have no beginners, we just skate! For newer skaters, I may have you skate around a little to see how we need to adjust the start of the skate!
Part 2 - 8:00 to 9:00 - Novice/intermediate/advanced combined skate. We will sometimes do cones, run through obstacles courses, play group games like tag, throw or kick a ball around, other events, just skate, or a combination of things! We should remain within a set area, usually on the pier or on the nicer sidewalks along the water so everyone can participate. Note that with the road construction, there may be a few small rough patches!
Part 3 - 9:00p to 11:00p - This is the time set aside for moving fast, but we may also make stops to work on more advanced skill sets, take short breaks, and stop to get some food. We may jump/roll down stairs, speed skate through the city, bomb parking garages, etc.
Remember, Consistency is the key to skill development!
