Anuvab Pal -QI, Comedy Store, News Quiz, BBC 2, Guardian
Anuvab Pal, hailed by The New York Times as “India’s Most Intelligent Comedian” and by NDTV as the country’s top English comic, has taken the global comedy scene by storm.
His hit show, The Nation Wants To Know, has sold out over 500 performances worldwide, including Gotham Comedy Club in New York, where he became the second Indian comedian to achieve this after Russell Peters. He is also the only Indian comedian to perform at Harvard and for India’s top political leaders.
In 2017, his Amazon Prime special Alive at 40 was broadcast across 30 countries. In the UK, his stand-up show Empire was featured at the Victoria and Albert Museum and is now a Soho Theatre special. Pal also co-hosts the international satirical podcast The Bugle and has appeared on shows such as QI (BBC2), The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4), and Al Murray: Why Does Everyone Hate The British Empire? (Sky History).
A prolific writer, Pal has penned two Bollywood films (Loins of Punjab Presents, The President Is Coming), four bestselling books, and has worked on major blockbusters like Baar Baar Dekho, Hichki, and Bhoot Police. He also writes a weekly column, Funny Business, for The Economic Times.
Anuvab splits his time between Mumbai, Kolkata, and London.
