In 2021, Christian and Tyler plunged into a vat of radioactive jelly—an unfortunate spill at the local jelly factory—only to reemerge as part of a mutated organism dubbed “Materosmuckerificus.” Their bandmates, Micah and Brandon, tried to save them but got pulled in themselves. The result? A highly contagious strain of funk fusion. Side effects of contamination include uncontrollable body movement, chronic stank face, and a sudden and severe case of inhibition loss—side effects that are strongly encouraged at this show.
Drawing from classic rock, metal, jazz, funk, and soul, The Mother Smuckers blend influences ranging from Cory Wong and Fearless Flyers to Mark Lettieri and Plini. Their sets are full of tight grooves, face-melting solos, and a playful spirit that keeps the party going all night long.
