This summer, join in the celebration of the Rogers Historical Museum’s 50th anniversary by traveling back to when the museum first opened in 1975 to make some of the decade’s most iconic crafts. Macramé is a geometrical, knot-tying technique using cord or string to create textiles or other fabric art. From fashion pieces to home-interior decorations, people all around the world have been crafting knotted pieces for centuries. A resurgence of this artform became all the rage in the 1970s! Learn about the history of this tying craft and then get into the 1970s spirit by creating your own knotted macramé piece. Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required. NOTE: Parents/Guardians are required to accompany their children at all times during the sessions.
Also check out other Arts events in Rogers.
Tickets for Macramé can be booked here.
