Storytelling for the whole family!
The Roc City Chronicles: Our Stories Ourselves is a multimedia storytelling event- using live actors, video, song, dance, and spoken word. Come to see and hear some of Rochester's Community Grios (storytellers) share the stories of Black and Brown people who migrated into the City of Rochester from 1940 to Now.
We will hear stories of Mid 20 th century Roc City and end with an explosion of talent from our community youth! You may see your story (2000 -2005) in one of the Vintage Kuumba Kids productions!
This Production is hosted by Kuumba Consultants an arts and education agency, in collaboration community artists and youth. Roc City Chronicles is funded by a City of Rochester Arts in Bloom Grant, and ESL Federal Credit Union Community Impact grant.
