Freedom Ball Honoring Freedom Through Unity & Culture

Join us as we joyfully celebrate Black freedom, culture, and the promise of future leaders at Journie’s 5th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee A powerful tradition born in 2020 to uplift communities across race, culture, and faith during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, a day of reflection and celebration. At Journie, our Juneteenth Jubilee honors:

• Black resilience, excellence, and joy
• Storytelling and legacy through a Black lens
• Cross-cultural unity and togetherness

In 2021, we introduced the Mr. & Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Award to help increase graduation rates among students of color in Rochester Public Schools. Since its launch, graduation rates have risen, a testament to the brilliance and perseverance of our youth.

Each year, we award two outstanding seniors (one male, one female) recognizing:

• Academic achievement
• Leadership potential
• Commitment to higher education

Dress Code: Formal attire is required
