Apollo Music Festival: 'Coolidge Commissions: Britten and Prokofiev'

Fill your Sunday with great music! Join the Apollo Music Festival for the fourth concert of our 13th season at the Rochester Art Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. The program features three pieces by composers Benjamin Britten, Sergei Prokofiev and Hanns Eisler, all commissioned by Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge, one of the most prolific and generous classical music arts patron that you may never have heard of. The 13th Season of the Apollo Music Festival is approaching! From August 14 through 24, nine musicians from around the country will convene in Southeastern Minnesota to present ten free chamber music concerts at five venues in the area. This year's Apollo Music Festival will celebrate famous patrons of the arts that have supported the composers we know and love. Invite your friends! This is a free event open to all.
