Event Overview:Join us for A Legacy in Color, a one-day gathering dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary life, art, and legacy of Loïs Mailou Jones—a trailblazing artist who defied barriers and infused her work with African heritage, political insight, and unmatched creative power.
This intimate event will include:🖼 A presentation on the evolution of her style and career—from the Harlem Renaissance to global influence🎙 Guided discussion on her role as a Black woman in 20th-century art history✍🏾 Group reflection on how her narrative inspires our own creative journeys🎨 Optional: A hands-on collage or sketch session inspired by her motifs and palette (materials provided)
