Perseids on the Roan Star Party

Roan Mountain State Park celebrates the peak of the 2025 Perseid Meteor Shower on the evening of August 11th. Join Park Ranger Phil Hylen at the Miller Farmstead Parking Lot from 9:00-10:30PM for a star party program. Guests will be introduced to many of the summer sky constellations and legends behind them while enjoying the streaking of meteors across the night sky. Refreshments will be provided by the park.

This program is free to the public. Be sure to bring a comfortable seat. The Miller Farmstead will be closed at the conclusion of the program, but guests wanting a good show beyond that time period are encouraged to proceed to Carver's Gap and hike along the Balds to experience another great area for night sky viewing.
