Snakes of Appalachia

Join Roan Mountain State Park Ranger, Phil Hylen, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM on Friday, August 8th at our Visitor Center to learn more about the species of snakes found in Southern Appalachia as well as the many interesting jobs these snakes do in the wild. Enjoy meeting one of our live education snake ambassadors while we bust some snake myths and learn how to coexist with these secretive animals while recreating in the mountains.

This program is free to attend and will meet on the porch of the Visitor Center. Guests are always encouraged to bring any photos of snakes they wish to have identified and to bring any snake-related questions along with you to ask.
