Black and Brown in the IE - Workshop

Black & Brown in the IE and Beyond (BBIEB) is a group art show that highlights historical and contemporary issues that Brown and Black communities face in the Inland Empire. BBIEB starts with a conceptual process where artists and community members take part in a series of free workshops conducted by local historians, academics, and community members. These workshops will take place in the educational room and cover historical issues such as education, redlining, segregation, language, migration, etc., and their impact on affected communities. Upon completion, artists will create pieces that address and highlight issues discussed during the workshops.

The end goal for these workshops is to guide artists to create art based on workshop topics. Artists will have the opportunity to submit pieces, that will be considered, to form part of a community art exhibit at the Cheech.
