Join us for Practical Serging 202: Make a T-shirt!
Ready to take your serging skills to the next level? In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to create your very own t-shirt using a serger machine. This class is perfect for beginners and seasoned sewists alike!
Please take serger 101 if you need help learning to use your serger. This class will focus on teaching the pattern and requires basic knowledge of how to thread and sew with serger.
Bring your serger or use one of ours
1 yard (1 1/8 yard for size 4x) of four way stretch knit fabric
four coordinating thread spools for your serger
Extra needles
Scissors
Pins
We will be using the free pattern from MadeforMermaids.com for the Paige Piko top. You can download this pattern for free from the website and get comfortable with it if you want to.
You'll learn how to sew necklines with a serger, how to work in sleeves, how to read a pattern, and how to measure yourself.
We will make every attempt at finishing the pattern in the class but you may have to finish hems at home if we run out of time.
