“My Neighborhood”: In this 2008 film, Mohammed El Kurd was a Palestinian boy growing up in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem When Mohammed turned 11, his family was forced to give up part of their home to Israeli settlers, who were leading a campaign of court-sanctioned evictions to guarantee Jewish control of the area.
“Severed”: Mohamad Saleh is an 18-year-old from Gaza who has lived through five major assaults on Gaza. In those attacks, he lost his home, family members, his best friends, and, at the age of 12, his leg. Now living in exile in Egypt, Mohamad struggles to piece together the shattered fragments of his life.
