Pints with Profs is your chance to dive into fascinating topics in a relaxed, informal setting. Join esteemed WSU Tri-Cities researchers as they share their latest projects and passions.

This month, meet with experts Tom Collins, associate professor in Viticulture & Enology, and Sarah Roley, associate professor in the School of the Environment.

Dr. Tom Collins will discuss his research on the impact of smoke exposure on grapes and wine. This includes his research on exposing grapes to smoke through measuring the smoke-related compounds in grapes and wine and potential mitigation methods in the vineyard and winery.

Dr. Sarah Roley will discuss harmful algal blooms that are a growing problem across the globe because they reduce biodiversity and sometimes release toxins. Learn more about algae, why they bloom, and why they might be occurring in new places!
