NHS Artown Talks - On The GO! hosted at Nevada Sunset Winery.

Every Saturday in July, we will feature two amazing History talks from 1-2pm and 2:30-3:30pm at our community partner's location. Our Artown talks are free to the public.

Learn about three of the Winter family homes in Nevada.
The Winters family were well known in California and in Nevada. Did you know that one of the Winters boys was known as “the Father of Thoroughbred Horse Racing” in the West? What do you know about their sister, Harriet Winters Read? And what about the generation after… The family settled in Washoe Valley in 1857, several of their Nevada homes exist today.

Learn about this fascinating Nevada family with guest speaker, Lorraine Petersen, NHS Docent.
