Piskey Path with Mazed storytellers – summer at KK

A case of Cornish stories! Join Hunt and Bottrell – tale collectors – as they unpack their suitcase of stories with a bit of help from the Mazed storytellers!

On Tuesday 29 July, with shows at 10.30am and 11.30am, hear tales of generous giants, mischievous piskies, hissing spriggans and flying sheep.

A special kind of magic, Piskey Path is a puppet show for everyone of all ages (aimed at over 5 years). It’s free and there’s no need to book.

Piskey Path was developed by researching here at Kresen Kernow, using images found in the archives. The tales are from Hunt and Bottrell’s published works.

About Hunt and Bottrell

Robert Hunt (1807-1887) was a dispensing chemist, pioneer photographer, keeper of mining records for the Geological Museum, and folklorist. He published his tale collection Popular Romances of the West of England in 1865.

William Bottrell, Old Celt (1816-1881) son of St Levan, farmer, adventurer and world traveller, spent his later years as a hermit at Hawkes Point in Lelant. His three books of the Traditions and Hearthside Stories of West Cornwall, 1870-80, tell the tales he heard in his childhood and those he heard later from Lelant miners.
