Concert: "Rhymes, Runes and Rhythms"

Fiona Smith Sutherland will direct with piano accompaniment by Kathleen Healy-Wedsworth.

The theme of the program will be “Poetry in Choral Music’. There will also be humor in this concert as evidenced in Irving Fine’s arrangement of Aaron Copland’s “I Bought me a Cat” and Sarah Quartel’s setting of E. Pauline Johnson’s “The Bird’s Lullaby’. Finally, the Shrewsbury Chorale will be a "participating chorus” in the New England Symphonic Ensemble concert at Carnegie Hall at 1PM on Monday, May 25, 2025. Tickets available on the Carnegie Hall website. It’s Memorial Day, folks! End your 3 day weekend in the city with new music.
