As the nights draw in its easy to get used to staying in on the sofa, but there is something really special about heading out into the hills under the light of the full moon. Why not come and see for yourself! This is the first of our Full Moon (monthly) Torch Walk series for Winter 2025/26.
We will take a 3.2 mile / 5 km loop from Helmshore, Rossendale along the base of Holdenwood Reservoir and up to the old quarry workings of Musbury Heights. Enjoy some fresh air, company, head space and good conversation whilst walking with a professional, qualified leader.
Paths are varied including some muddy, narrow grassy bits, a cycle path and tarmac road sections. It does have a steep climb in this route and there are a few stiles on this route, too. The total elevation is 150m / 510ft.
This route is family-friendly and suitable for ages 7+.
Well behaved, friendly dogs welcome, however, please use non-retractable leads or keep them short to reduce risk of the leads getting tangled round other participants legs.
Tickets are limited, cost £7 per adult / £5 per child and must be booked in advance (follow the ticket link). These small-group guided walks are professionally led by a qualified Mountain Leader and Outdoor First Aider / Mental Health First Aider, with full PL insurance.
Details of what to bring and where to meet will be emailed on booking, but please get in touch if you need further details beforehand. We walk in ALL weather, so please do take note of the Kit List that will be sent out on booking. We do have spare head torches, but if you have your own that would be useful.
