In this creative mixed media workshop, students will transform a single sheet of heavy art paper into a beautiful accordion-folded concertina book — an art journal with 24 double-sided 6 x 6 inch panels to fill with color, texture, and imagination!
This class is a follow-up to the Botanical Printmaking class, though no prior experience is necessary. Students will explore collage techniques using a variety of printed, painted, and found papers including botanical prints, old artwork, magazine clippings, tissue papers, photos, and more. We’ll work with acrylic paint, markers, stencils, and layered papers to build richly textured pages that tell a visual story.
What to Bring:
Any personal images, printmaking pieces, old art, magazines, catalogs, photos, or papers you’d like to include
A list of suggested items will be shared with students upon registration
