Dan Berard will explore the river in search of ducks and other birds and experience the changes and importance of the Blackstone Corridor. Join Dan on one or both of the following Sundays: February 22 and March 8, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. Both walks will start at Blackstone Field, across from the Narragansett Boat Club (2 River Drive, Providence, RI 02906). Registration strongly recommended: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeWpcvdTWQZBM3A16u3oCAk3oRw1hVDDHpfsq1MAguU7KpDRA/viewform
As the winter weather changes by the day so do the ducks, loons, raptors and many other species of birds which rely on the open water of the river. As waters further north freeze, more ducks and grebes may move to the river. Harsh ocean conditions may bring in sea ducks and loons. Every day is different!
Dan Berard is an expert naturalist, ornithologist and educator. Children are welcome to walk with their parents. Bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, camera.
