𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: This film noir features Gloria Swanson as faded, delusional Hollywood actress Norma Desmond. William Holden co-stars as the struggling writer she hires to edit the screenplay she believes will usher in her comeback. The story is twisted and cynical, the black and white cinematography is stunning, and writer-director Billy Wilder is at the top of his game. Often considered the best film about Hollywood.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: We’ll be joined in person by New York Times best selling author Michael Schulman for a lively discussion. Michael is the author of his latest book “Oscar Wars,” a history of the Academy Awards, which focuses on the brutal battles, the starry rivalries, and the colorful behind-the-scenes drama.
