Sezóna letních koncertů na dvorku za smíchovskou továrnou odstartuje s indie folkem kapely Ida The Young, lo-fi punkovým písničkářstvím islandských BSÍ a laptopovou melancholií kanadského projektu COMMUTED.
★ Ida The Young
Podivné kytky, černá rtěnka, hladoví racci, vráskovité ruce ve vaně, sopky a vraždící kovbojové – tohle všechno tvoří svět Ida The Young. Tato pětičlenná kapela vyniká jak intimními, přímočarými vokály a podmanivými texty, tak barvitou instrumentací, ve které se nebojí mísit žánry. Na debutovém EP Strange Shaped Flowers z roku 2023 osobitě kombinují vlivy folku a americany. S následným elektroničtějším releasem Silver Thing zahájili spolupráci s ostravským labelem Korobushka Records. Kromě přibývajících zkušeností z českých a slovenských klubů a festivalů (Beseda u Bigbítu, Vivat Vila, Hacienda Barcelona, Sharpe) Ida The Young taky pravidelně hrají v zahraničí.
★ BSÍ
„Sounds like riot grrrls taking over your favourite bus terminal, with a spirit of DIY & krútt pönk.“ Islandskou kapelu BSÍ tvoří dvojice nejlepších přátel Silla Thorarensen a Julius Pollux Rothlaender. Projekt je pojmenován podle centrálního autobusového nádraží v Reykjavíku, na počest „nejmizernějšího místa, jaké na Islandu můžete najít“. Silla a Julius se snaží nebrat sami sebe příliš vážně, nebojí se přijmout své pochyby a prostě dělají a jsou tím, čím se zrovna cítí být. Jejich debutové album Sometimes depressed ... but always antifascist... vydal berlínský label Tomatenplatten.
★ COMMUTED
Melancholická laptopová hudba kanadského projektu COMMUTED ožívá v nezaměnitelných live shows, které si pro svou syrovost, nespoutanost a proudy nefiltrovaných emocí získaly fanoušky po celém světě. One man band Davida Eatocka se do Prahy vrací po podzimním koncertu s Crywank. Do MeetFactory přiveze svou čerstvou nahrávku I Am An Island.

Summer brings the season of outdoor concerts to MeetFactory’s backyard, this time kicking off with the bittersweet indie folk of Ida The Young, lo-fi punk of Icelandic duo BSÍ, and the laptop melancholy of Canadian one man band COMMUTED.
★ Ida The Young
Strange flowers, black lipstick, hungry seagulls, wrinkly hands in the bathtub, volcanoes and murderous cowboys – all this and much more makes up the world of Ida the Young. The young band from Pilsen stands out with intimate and captivating vocals, as well as their vibrant instrumentation. On their debut EP Strange Shaped Flowers (2023), Ida The Young blend influences from folk and americana. With their more electronic follow-up release Silver Thing, the band began working with the Ostrava-based label Korobushka Records. In addition to gaining experience across Czech and Slovak clubs and festivals (Beseda u Bigbítu, Vivat Vila, Hacienda Barcelona, Sharpe), Ida The Young also perform abroad regularly.
★ BSÍ
"Sounds like riot grrrls taking over your favourite bus terminal, with a spirit of DIY & krútt pönk." Icelandic band BSÍ is made up of best friends Silla Thorarensen and Julius Pollux Rothlaender. The project is named after Reykjavík’s central bus station, in honor of “the most miserable place you can find in all of Iceland.” Silla and Julius try to not take themselves too seriously, unafraid to embrace their self-doubts and just do and be what- or however they feel. BSÍ’s debut album Sometimes depressed ... but always antifascist... was released by Berlin-based label Tomatenplatten.
★ COMMUTED
The melancholic laptop music of COMMUTED comes alive in the Canadian project’s raw live shows, praised around the global underground for their wild energy and floods of unfiltered emotion. The one-man band of David Eatock returns to Prague after a recent show with Crywank, bringing his fresh release I Am An Island to MeetFactory.
