Gathering Fall: Eco Printing with Annie Simms

Fallen leaves in an ecoprint practice can be a pathway, to learn the names, wisdom and offerings of surrounding trees. Together we will get to know our trees neighbours, through tree identification and leaf foraging; as well as experience the cyclical and deeper time scales the fall season represents.

We will fumble and explore how to cultivate a meaningful land-based arts practice on the traditional territories of the Tla’amin Nation.

Contemplating these starting questions: Where Are You? Who was here before you? Who do you share this space with? How can I harvest honorably?

We will investigate not only the poetics of falling leaves but as well as their tangible use in our environment. Who uses fallen leaves as habitat? How do fallen leaves contribute to our soil and ecosystem?

*NB: This workshop will involve a short foraging walk outdoors so please dress for the weather.
