What?
• A 2 hour-ish group hike / mushroom foray / scavenger hunt
• On easy to intermediate trails with some bushwhacking
• A tasting party where we sample the finest from the forest floor with baguettes, garlic and fine wines
• Everyone is welcome. It's free!

• Click on "Going" if you're committed to showing up. (Note: Sign-up and don't show up and your name/reputation or both will be dragged through the mud and fed to banana slugs!)
Agenda
• 08:45 Car pool. Meet at the parking lot behind the water treatment plant at the head of Haslam Street in Powell River.
• 09:00 Start. Foray begins at the Squirrel Crossing parking lot. 5-minute rule applies.
• 11:00ish Finish. Squirrel Crossing parking lot.
• 15:00ish Tasting starts. Shuffle off to the Event Host's house where the fruits of the woods will be studied. We'll cook-up the good ones with garlic and butter and serve them for all to taste.
• 17:00 Wrap-up so you can get home in time for dindin (assuming you are still hungry)
This is an informal, environmentally-friendly event with bonus points going to those who pick up trash or who find pine mushrooms and give to the Event Host.
Getting to the Start
• Squirrel Crossing parking lot is on Duck Lake Road Branch 2 just north of Duck Lake near Powell River, BC
Notes
• kids, spouses and pals most welcome.
• pickers: bring a pocket knife, an Easter basket, your phone/camera and appropriate clothing for the foray
• eaters: bring a bottle of wine to share at the tasting.
• Anticipate moderate bush-whacking, muddy feet, maybe bears, some trails, some old friends and maybe some new.
• if it's pouring the mushrooms will be soggy and tasteless. Rain date the next day (Sunday)
