Hello Adventurers!
First of all, the Jewish Hiking Group is a peer engagement group for Jewish young adults in their 20s and 30s in San Diego County.
There is a small fee at the Los Penasquitos Canyon parking lot ($5.00), but 100% of the money goes to the preserve.

For this adventure, we are teaming up with Moishe House, Encinitas and I'm taking you to one of San Diego County's hidden forests at Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve. On this flat trail, you'll be able to enjoy beautiful meadows, shade under the oak trees, and a stream surrounded by sycamores. If that isn't enough, the turn around point is a set of small waterfalls. There are many species of birds (acorn woodpeckers, rare falcons, scrub jays, etc.), deer, and other animal life. This special preserve has over 100 different species of plants and trees which makes the environment change several times during our journey. If that isn't enough, the last time I was here, I saw a baby deer just relaxing under plants and of course, behind a field of poison oak, lol.
Be sure to bring:
AT LEAST ONE LITER OF WATER
Good hiking or athletic shoes
Food for snacks
Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
