The sixth annual Potsdam community-wide Juneteenth Celebration is held in a beautiful riverside setting at the Ives Park Gazebo, behind the hotel and public parking lot at 1 Main St. in Potsdam. All are invited to attend this community-wide event!

American History Honored
The Juneteenth Celebration is a family-friendly event that celebrates the culture of African-Americans and provides a space for Black voices to be lifted. Celebrate Black culture, arts, creativity and Joy!
Juneteenth is Freedom Day for African-Americans, a celebration to mark the day when the last remaining American slaves learned they were finally free from bondage in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
All Are Welcome
The public is invited to learn about Juneteenth, African-American culture, and local history through entertainment and brief presentations. A Native American Land Acknowledgement will open the event at 3 pm.
Bring Your Picnic!
Beverages, fruit, and cupcakes will be provided free of charge.
We are not able to provide the traditional full free meal this year, but plan to make it happen again in 2026!

There will be music with local talent K Twist & The Piece of the Solution and friends, final program to be announced.
