Casey, a North Country native, recently returned after 20 years of teaching and performing across the country. His extensive experience includes performing with the world-renowned Blue Man Group in NYC, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Orlando, as well as working with Walt Disney Entertainment and regional theaters. Over the past decade, Casey has taught acting, voice, percussion, piano, and ukulele both in the classroom and online. He’s thrilled to bring his wealth of experience and passion back home and share it with the community.
We’ll start with a brief group lesson to introduce drumming techniques and patterns, ensuring that both beginners and experienced drummers feel comfortable and confident. Next, we’ll guide a short meditation to set intentions and align the collective energy for the circle. Finally, we’ll come together for an open drumming session, where participants can drum along when inspired or simply relax and immerse themselves in the rhythms and energy of the group.
****As we've been slowly building a regular attendance at these circles, Casey and I have realized that it would be helpful to allow some additional practice and learning time for newer drummers. If you would like some basic instruction on how to use the djembe, frame drum, or other common drums, please arrive early at 5:30 p.m. and Casey will assist you! ****
We do have a few drums on hand for those who do not own their own drum; however, please feel free to bring your own drum if you would like!
Seating is provided - we have folding chairs and meditation cushions on hand. If you would prefer to bring your own chair, you are welcome to do so.
The event will be held outside at the fire pit if weather permits; otherwise, we will move inside to the healing arts center.
