The Turn of the Screw: A One Woman Horror Show

A young governess is hired to care for two orphaned children on a large estate in the English countryside. But she soon finds herself in the grips of the house’s terrible secrets and horrifying past. Readers Theatre Repertory cordially invites you to The Turn of the Screw, a new adaptation of Henry James’s classic tale of terror, suspense, obsession, and madness.

“This is the scariest ghost story I’ve ever read, and the most terrifying use of an unreliable narrator," says David Berkson, director and author of this word-for-word adaptation. "We are so fortunate to have Caitlin Lushington return for this tour-de-force,” he continues. “This story needs a great actress to match its psychological complexity. Ghosts are spooky, but sometimes people are more terrifying.”


The Turn of the Screw runs Friday and Saturday night, June 27 & 28, at 1201 SW 12th Avenue in Portland. The show starts at 8PM and runs about an hour. Admission is $15.00. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and walk-ins should arrive by 7:30P. All reserved seats will be released to walk-ins at 7:55P sharp.
