We’re thrilled to welcome back a Portland favorite, Larry Unger, joined by Jacie Sites on fiddle and Betsy Branch on violin. Larry has a gift for playing to dancers, and his past performances here have been some of the most memorable highlights of our dance year. This is a special one—try not to miss it!
Their playlist will feature waltzes from Larry’s CDs alongside fresh new tunes, plus acoustic swing, blues, foxtrots, tangos, and more. The variety will keep every dancer inspired, from smooth waltz turns to lively swing steps. And for those who enjoy weaving tango into their dance repertoire, the music and the beautiful Norse Hall floor offer plenty of moments to make it your own.
Larry’s music blends traditional and contemporary acoustic styles from around the globe, creating a dynamic, swinging sound that makes you want to move. With Jacie and Betsy on fiddle and Larry on guitar and banjo, you can expect rhythmic drive, melodic warmth, and plenty of surprises—ranging from American and Celtic traditions to fresh, inventive compositions.
