Welcome to Port Veritas! We meet every Tuesday night in person at the Equality Community Center at 15 Casco St in Portland AND online. We typically end by 9:30 pm EST, but we have the space until 10 pm EST.
In person friends, please remain masked in the building. If you are reading, you may take off your mask only while reading.
The ECC has an accessible ramp at the North entrance, and three low steps with railings at the front entrance on Casco Street.

Our feature this week is Jude Marx coming to us in person!
Jude Marx (they/them) was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and now resides in southern Maine. They have written poetry since they were seven years old, later competing nationally Albuquerque’s city-wide youth slam poetry team. They studied poetry and education at Bowdoin college and completed a Masters of Science in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the University of Southern Maine. Jude teaches at The Telling Room, a nonprofit that teaches and publishes creative writing by young people across Maine. Jude also teaches workshops combining yoga and writing to queer and trans youth and adults through Sea Change Yoga. Jude is the winner of the 2024 Maine Trans Poetry Anthology Contest and a 2025 Maine Literary Award for poetry. Their poems appear in New Words Press and Monster Beauties: A Maine Transgender Poetry Anthology.
