Get “Wild” for Dinner!
Did you know the W**d called Lamb’s Quarters packs more Vitamin A than raw spinach?
That a salad made with Stinging Nettles can strengthen the immune system?
Or that Wild Violets have both edible and medicinal value?
Join us on Tuesday, June 24, at 6:30 PM at First Congregational Church (421 E. Bridge St.) for “Wild Edibles,” the third informational seminar in the monthly Nature Therapy program.
Portland’s own Melissa Medalen will share expertise on how to identify plants that are tasty, nutritional, and helpful to personal well-being.
She will tell us what to pick and what to leave alone in the woods, along the trail, or in the empty lot next door.
Co-sponsored by Portland Parks & Recreation and First Congregational Church, the community-outreach program is designed to inform, inspire, and connect people with Portland’s unique outdoor recreational opportunities. Nature Therapy seminars are free and open to all. While registration is not required, signing up helps us to plan future programming.
